SmallBizPAC
“The success of our economy and local communities is dependent on the role small businesses play,” said SBAM President and CEO Brian Calley. “Michigan needs leaders in Lansing who listen and advocate for small businesses.”
AgriPAC
I am a proud supporter of the farmers who put food on our tables. As your State Representative, I will continue to advocate for policies that benefit farmers and their families.
Roads+
Roads+ is the advocacy arm of the County Road Association of Michigan. Local roads across the 108th District are in desperate need of repair. As your State Representative, I have remained committed to supporting the county road agencies who are dedicated to improving our local transportation system. I remain committed to supporting policies that will improve our local roads and bridges.
Fraternal Order of Police
The Fraternal Order of Police is one of Michigan’s oldest and largest law enforcement organizations. I am proud to support the law enforcement community, and as your State Representative, I am committed to protecting the people who keep our communities safe.
Michigan Doctors’ PAC
Ensuring that we have access to the best health care in the nation means that we need to have the best doctors in the nation. Being an advocate for patients and physicians in Lansing is critically important to achieving that goal. As your State Representative, I am committed to working with our doctors on health care issues.
Michigan Professional Fire Fighters Union
I am proud to have the support of the 7,500 active and retired members of the Michigan Professional Fire Fighters Union. As your State Representative, I am committed to protecting fire fighters and their rights.
NFIB MI PAC
“The onslaught of anti-small business policies proposed and passed by the current state legislature has made electing pro-small business candidates even more critical than in years past,” said Amanda Fisher, NFIB Michigan State Director.
“Small businesses employ half of all employees in Michigan and are integral to the state’s economic health. It is imperative that we have law makers who are laser focused on rolling back harmful regulations and mandates on small businesses and reigning in out-of-control government expansion and spending to ensure Main Street survives.”
Realtors PAC
I am proud to be endorsed by the Michigan Realtors PAC. Respect for private property rights is a huge part of our U.P. values. As your State Representative, I am committed to protecting those rights from Lansing.
Police Officers Association of Michigan
I am proud to be endorsed by the Police Officers Association of Michigan. In the Upper Peninsula, we value the safety, security, and well-being of our communities. I will always have the back of the law enforcement officers who put themselves at risk to keep us safe.
Michigan Agri-Business Association PAC
“As a result of your focus on common-sense policy to keep growing Michigan agriculture, the Michigan Agri-Business Association’s PAC is pleased to endorse your candidacy,” said Chuck Lippstreu, President of the Michigan Agri-Business Association.
“Given the tremendous importance of agriculture for Michigan’s economy, it’s critical that we have leaders at all levels who are well-informed and keenly focused on standing up for the future of the agricultural sector.”
Citizens for Traditional Values PAC
“CTV-PAC seeks to promote candidates with traditional Judeo-Christian values in order to impact public policy at all levels of government in Michigan by helping to preserve our guiding principles of Sanctity of Life, Traditional Marriage, Proper Role of Government, and Educational Freedom.
“Your dedication to these principles is crucial to supporting strong families and promoting good government within our state.”
Michigan Chamber of Commerce
“We are pleased to endorse these candidates because they have demonstrated a willingness to listen, engage and work with the Michigan Chamber to advance job creation, economic growth and a thriving state,” said Jim Holcomb, president and CEO. “We all win with a strong, resilient business climate that benefits our employers, communities and families alike.”
Great Lakes Education Project
Our students deserve a first-class education. Ensuring that we increase accountability and empower parental choices in our schools is an essential part of improving academic achievement for students across the Upper Peninsula.
Michigan Manufacturer’s Association
Our economy depends upon an innovative and competitive manufacturing sector. In order to move our communities forward and ensure a competitive business climate, I am a proud champion of manufacturing.
Michigan Licensed Beverage Association
As someone who owned a small business with a liquor license, I know the challenges that licensees face. These small business owners face problems with regulation, over taxation, and an increasingly difficult business climate. Their concerns deserve to be heard in Lansing, and I am proud to be an advocate for them.
From the desk of Doug Bovin, former 108th State Representative.
The 108th District may have changed geographically since I represented it in the Legislature, but the values of its people have not. Values like hard work, family, faith, and service before self remain evident. That is why I am proud to put my full support behind 108 th District candidate Dave Prestin—a candidate who embodies these values.
Dave’s strong work ethic has created unmatched experienced. In addition to reviving bankrupt and struggling businesses, he has experience governing local boards and entities. For example, I serve with Dave on the Alger-Delta Electrical Cooperative Board. He has proven himself to be a consensus builder, viewing each issue objectively and with full attention.
Dave’s service as a county commissioner is also critical. That role consists of passing budgets, writing and passing good policy, and handling constituent issues —exactly what a state representative does. And he has done it well for four years. Voters of this district would benefit from a state representative who has already done the work.
As a substitute teacher and paramedic, Dave understands education and mental health issues. These issues are important to me, and I know they are important to Dave, too. Increasing local control and flexibility in school curriculums will be one of his priorities in Lansing, because what works in Detroit and Grand Rapids oftentimes does not work in the U.P. Moreover, improving access to mental health services and beds is an increasingly important issue, as Dave sees firsthand responding to emergency calls across the district.
On a more personal note, Dave is a family man. He is a loving husband of 21 years to Kathie and a loving father to their daughter, Mattie. As a family, they do everything together—from 4H to sports to campaigning. And I know that making the 108 th a better place for all is a shared Prestin commitment.
The 108th District needs an experienced, proven voice to represent its interests in Lansing. Dave Prestin is that voice.
Please join me in voting for Dave in the August 2nd Republican Primary.

I will NEVER compromise on the Second Amendment. Thank you to the Delta County Gun Owners Association for recognizing this and recommending me as 108th District state representative.
Oswald’s Bear Ranch Owner Dean Oswald and Family
“My name is Dean Oswald, Marine veteran and longtime owner of Oswald’s Bear Ranch. I am proud to give my full and exclusive endorsement to Dave Prestin, Republican candidate for 108th District State Representative.
We need a strong state representative who will oppose these policies and hold state and federal agencies accountable. A representative who will help struggling business owners and community members. A representative who will not be afraid to defend the U.P. when the powerful knock on its door. That’s why I ask you to vote for Dave Prestin in this upcoming Republican primary. As a county commissioner and entrepreneur, Dave has already done these things. He fought and helped defund the governor’s orders, spoke out against overzealous state actors, and balanced the county budget. And he’ll keep doing it as our voice in Lansing.
For these reasons and more, I ask you to join the Oswald family in voting for Dave Prestin this summer—the experienced, proven choice.”
Retired Marine and Menominee County Sheriff Kenny Marks
“Dave owned businesses, now serving as firefighter-paramedic and county commissioner. Just like I trust Prestin to have my back on fire scenes, I trust Prestin to have our backs in Lansing. Dave will continue fighting job-killing mandates. Prestin supports our police and vets and defends the Constitution from power-hungry politicians like Governor Whitmer. This Republican primary, join me in voting Dave Prestin—the experienced voice we need."
Menominee County Board Chairman Larry Phelps
Menominee County Business Leader Jesse Betters
"I have had the pleasure of knowing Mr. Prestin for some time now, even had a chance to sit on a board or two with him. I have witnessed Dave fight for what was right, it did not matter person or the issue. He spent as many hours as needed, with no personal gain, to stand up for the people he was representing.
After learning Dave was running to be our 108th district representative I asked him why. He did not say that he had a political agenda or that he was recruited by other people. He simply said I feel like I owe it to the people of this Upper Peninsula.
Dave may not be the most recognizable name of the ballot, but he is the most qualified and will get our 108th district positive results."
Delta County Commissioner John Malnar
"I have sat on the same board (Delta Menominee County Public Health) with Dave for two years. He has shown leadership on this board. Dave will do a great job and will see that the Upper Peninsula gets what we deserve; that’s why I support Dave Prestin for the 108th House of Representative."
